Lightning Decision Jam
Three hours in which your team names what is in the way, picks what matters most and leaves with a first set of actions.
When to use it
- When you have a problem to solve
- When you have a tricky decision to make
- When you have lots of issues but don’t know where to start
- As a brainstorm, or a retrospective on what went well and what to do better
- To troubleshoot an unclear situation
- Just to show people what a workshop is, or can be
How it runs
Five steps, adjusted to your group and the time you have.
1
Name the challenges
The team maps what helps, what holds it back and where it wants to go, and turns it into “how might we” questions.
2
Pick what matters
Everyone votes. One question gets the rest of the session.
3
Borrow ideas
Short demos show how others have solved something similar.
4
Generate solutions
A fast round where everyone sketches a batch of rough ideas.
5
Decide what to act on
Ideas go on an impact-versus-effort board and you choose your first moves.
What you leave with
- A prioritised set of “how might we” questions
- A pile of solution ideas, not just one
- An action board ranked by impact and effort, with a clear first move
Good to know. Low preparation, fixed scope and a fixed price, offered on request. Want a longer session afterwards? The next step is Strategy Signal.
